June 11 2009 – Letterman was compelled to apologize and back pedal regarding some jokes made about Sarah Palin and her daughters. Letterman clarifies his stance and denied he poked fun at the minor, Willow Palin. Letterman took the opportunity to extend an invitation the Goc Palin to appear on his show. Palin declined. Knowing Letterman, she would be mincemeat on his sofa.

David Letterman read out some jokes his fans put together for “The Top Ten Highlights of Sarah Palin’s trip to New York”. Some viewers thought Letterman insulted Palin but Letterman’s Top Ten list has always included jokes.

Letterman hinted Palin’s youngest daughter, Willow Palin, may be next in line with A-Rod. Some people deemed it offensive to joke about a young, underaged girl with a notorious ladies man. Palin has responded that Letterman hit below the belt with his sexual jokes.

Letterman’s representative refused to respond after Sarah Palin’s protest.
