Julia Roberts was a guest on the David Letterman Show. Roberts got Letterman to chat about his wedding to his long time girlfriend, Regina Lasko. One night in March 2009, Letterman admitted to the whole world he and Regina Lasko had become man and wife.

Letterman admitted Regina had taken his name she has become Regina Lasko Letterman. Letterman enjoyed talking to Roberts so much he related an anecdote of how his son Harry Letterman got into a whiny fit when they were on their way to the Justice of Peace to conduct their wedding vows. Letterman said he had to pull his car over and settle the nagging issue.

Letterman thanked Roberts for her gift of champagne to celebrate his wedding. So he effectively returned the favour by inviting Roberts over to be his guest on his show. The publicity would be good for the both of them. Roberts picked one of the hottest topics to chat with Letterman
