Satish Narayan, 47, died after being set on fire by his wife, 20 days ago. Narayan, hospitalized in the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide, Australia, had burns on his genitals.
Rajini Narayan may face a manslaughter charge or a murder charge. On Dec. 7, at around 5:30 am, Rajini Narayan allegedly doused Satish Narayan’s genitals with methylated spirit while he was sleeping. Then, Rajini Narayan allegedly set her husband’s genitals on fire.
Rajini Narayan is remanded in Adelaide Women’s Prison. Her neighbor visited her and told her of the death of Satish Narayan. This neighbor claimed Rajini wanted her husband to live.
When Satish Narayan was set ablaze, he woke up, jumped out of bed and knocked over the bottle of methylated spirit. The Narayan house was set on fire. Rajini Narayan and her 3 children escaped unharmed. The Narayan house and a neighbor’s house suffered damage to the tune of $1 million.
Satish Narayan, an engineer, suffered burns to about 85 % of his body. The Narayan family moved from Adelaide from Canberra a few months ago.
